Airtel to charge extra for making VoIP calls such as Skype or Viber

If you were thinking to greet your friends, relatives or colleagues for free using Skype, Viber or LINE, then just hold on. This news is going to shock you for sure. India’s largest telecom operator in terms of user-base, Airtel has announced an extra charge for making VoIP calls even if you are on one of their data packs. This means you’ll now have to pay some extra money to use all those free voice and video calling services such as Skype, Viber, LINE and more.

Xiaomi Redmi 1S went back on sale today; Redmi Note 4G to go on sale on December 30

After the ban has been lifted from Xiaomi for selling Qualcomm-based devices, its budget-friendly offering Redmi 1S went back on sale today. Micromax’s Yu brand launches Yureka smartphone with Cyanogen OS

Micromax’s subsidiary Yu televentures launched its first smartphone, named Yureka featuring Cyanogen’s OS 11 and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor. Earlier, Micromax got a case filed against the chinese smartphone maker OnePlus banning sales of its “Flagship Killer” device OnePlus One, as it infringes their exclusive deal with Cyanogen Inc. forusing the company’s branding and software in their Yu brand of devices.

OnePlus One sales barred in India

After Xiaomi, it’s OnePlus which is barred from selling OnePlus One, popularly known as “The Flagship Killer”, in India by Delhi High Court. The Indian smartphone manufacturer Micromax has filed a case against OnePlus for infringing the exclusive country-specific rights, which Micromax has acquired for selling CyanogenMod devices in India. 

Xiaomi allowed to import and sell Qualcomm-based smartphones till January 8

Chinese Smartphone maker and World’s third largest smartphone company Xiaomi is now allowed to resume its sale of Qualcomm-based smartphones in India until January 8.
Delhi High Court had banned Xiaomi and the online e-commerce site Flipkart from selling the chinese smartphone maker’s handsets in India in an order on December 8. The swedish technology company Ericsson had filed a case against Xiaomi for infringement of patents under IPR rules, 2007.
